The "Wooden Wonder" makes an appearance in highly impressive 1/32 scale! That was the nickname given to
the De Havilland Mosquito series of aircraft, an ingenious and beautiful design which saw the versatile airplane made almost entirely of wood. Its outstanding speed and range ensured that the FB Mk.VI was used in a range of missions, including raids on important targets and infrastructure in the German homeland. It is often said that, until the advent of the Messerschmitt Me262, the German Luftwaffe did not have an adequate response to the "Mossie."

Wonderful news, just to set the cat amongst the pigeons it also appears to cost less than the much anticipated HK models kit.Cannot wait... Regards Jason

A dream come true - by Tamiya!

This is great news, I would love to review this baby. The HK version is IIRC the fighter-bomber while the Tamiya airframe is the fighter version. In any case, should be plenty of interest in both kits.

Going to be very interesting to compare the two offerings. I imagine too that Tamiya will eventually release other marks if it sells.

The HKM model is the Mk IV bomber, I'm building one at the moment and it is a very good kit with innovitive features such as one piece fuselage parts and wings This is very welcome news as it means that HKM don't now need to release a MkVI which means other planned releases may arrive sooner

Hi there It does look really neat - and I have to admit I'm more likely to go for this than the bomber version (plus, am I the only person to think the spinners look off in the shots of the HKM kit?). If Tamiya really do bring a Mossie in at less than a ton in the UK, they'll probably clean up. I just wish Airfix had gone for 1:32 instead of their unmanageably large 1:24... (I was there on the day Hannants got the first delivery, all ready to buy the kit - but the sheer size of it brought home reality, even to a nutcase like me! ). All the best Rowan
