Hataka Hobby have sent us details of the latest additions to their fast-growing range of popular acrylic paints. The new paint sets cover the Israeli Air Force in the 1970s and France's Armée de l'Air during WW2.
HTK-AS12 “Israeli AF paint set (1970's desert colours)”
The set contains standard colours used by Israeli Air Force from July 1967 till late 1970s in so called "1970's desert scheme". The four-colour camouflage covered by the set was introduced after the Six-Day War, when the long used brown and blue over grey scheme of IAF aircraft was regarded as not appropriate for operations over Sinai, and dominated until introduction of the new generation of IAF’s aircraft in late 1970s / early 1980s. The set also includes FS34258 Green (used on IAF’s A-4H/N Skyhawks instead of standard Pale Green, which was used on other aircraft) and Aluminium paint for imitation of an overall natural metal finish of IAF’s Mirage IIIs interceptors in early 1970s. The set contains:

HTK-A078 - Aluminium - Overall colour of IAF Mirage IIIs from their introduction in 1962 to early 1970s, until switch to "1970's desert colours"
HTK-A090 - Sand - FS33531, used for upper surfaces of MD 450s, F-4s, A-4s, Neshers, Super Mysteres, Fouga Magisters and helicopters
HTK-A091 - Pale Green - FS34227, used for upper surfaces of MD 450s, F-4s, Neshers, Super Mysteres, Fouga Magisters, UH-1Ds and CH-53Ds
HTK-A012 - Dark Tan - FS30219, used for upper surfaces of MD 450s, F-4s, A-4s, Neshers, Super Mysteres, Fouga Magisters and helicopters
HTK-A092 - Duck Egg Blue - FS35622, used for lower surfaces of MD 450s, F-4s, A-4s, Neshers, Super Mysteres, Fouga Magisters and helicopters
HTK-A093 – Green - FS34258, used for lower surfaces in "1970's desert colours" scheme of IAF A-4H/N Skyhawks (instead of standard Pale Green)

HTK-AS16 “Early WW2 French Air Force paint set”
In late 1938 the French Air Ministry issued an instruction on camouflage of all land-based aircraft. Those already in service were painted during 1939, while the new ones received factory scheme. The colours applied could be different depending on the manufacturer - in general Light Blue Grey (Gris Blue Clair) was used on lower surfaces, with a mix of Dark Blue Grey (Gris Bleu Foncé), green (usually Kaki Français or Vert) and brown (usually Brun Fonce or Terre de Sienne) used on upper surfaces. All of the above mentioned major colour variations can be achieved using HTK-AS16 paint set. The set contains:

HTK-A079 - Brun Foncé - Used for upper surfaces in 1938 standard French AF camouflage scheme (one of variants of recommended "brown" colour)
HTK-A080 - Vert - Used for upper surfaces in 1938 standard French AF camouflage scheme (one of variants of recommended "green" colour)
HTK-A081 - Terre de Sienne - Used for upper surfaces in 1938 standard French AF camouflage scheme (one of variants of recommended "brown" colour)
HTK-A082 – Gris Bleu Foncé - Used for upper surfaces in 1938 standard French Air Force camouflage scheme of all land-based aircraft
HTK-A083 - Gris Bleu Clair - Used for lower surfaces in 1938 standard French Air Force camouflage scheme of all land-based aircraft
HTK-A084 - Kaki Français - Used for upper surfaces in 1938 standard French AF camouflage scheme (one of variants of recommended "green" colour)
