Description
No fortunate sons here.

Nothing quite says Vietnam like the Bell UH-1 Huey. This exceptional helicopter was the center of the American Army's new mobility centric strategy for winning wars. Helicopters were used to ferry troops in and out of combat zones, provide fire support, extract wounded, recon for enemy forces, and act as supply shuttles. This Huey is configured as a gunship, ready to provide fire support for the troops. Kit features detailed interior, pilot figures, replica engine, movable rotors, rocket pods, four external machine guns, and decals for two versions.

Don't shoot me I only report the news!

Only because it is the only 1/24 Huey available. It is pretty weak on details and accuracy.

Only because it is the only 1/24 Huey available. It is pretty weak on details and accuracy.[/quote] Thus my tongue in cheek statement. This one really cries out for some aftermarket treatment at the very least. It would be excellent to see what the modern companies can do with it. And while they're at it, it would be nice to see a -D/H Huey. Clever use of optional parts could produce the -N twin Huey and 412 Griffon as well. Hmm, perhaps it's time to visit Rowan's Wish List thread...

Glad this one is back-sure wish they'd eventually do a 1/24th Blackhawk! I'm sure the blades could be made to fold for storage. It would also be great to see a 1/24th Navy Seahawk and Coast Guard Jayhawk!

They would be HUGE!! In my opinion, they would be too big. I don't see them ever being done. 1/24 is not a common scale for helos and there are no accessories of crew in that scale. 1/24 is fine for car models, but way too big and obscure for helos.

the 1/35 Black Hawk is big enough. I have the very good toy/model from BlueBox on my Cabinet at Sikorsky (where the full scale models are built. It is 1/18 scale and Quite good but 3 ft. long! The rotor blades come off. (simple mod) but it would not fit in the room at home. the !/35 Won't wear its blades either.

Yep. Couldn't agree with you more... I've never understood why there has never been any aftermarket out for this evergreen kit, which his been out since I was a little kid. No figures, no details, no decals, no weapons, basically, no nuthin'...at least that I know of. Surprised that the Cobra Company or Floyd's Werner's Wings (et al) have never tackled the 24th scale Huey. And a D/H model slick --- not to mention an AH-1G Cobra and OH-6A Loach --- would also be pretty cool in 24th scale as well! Always good to dream!!! Been about 30 years or so since I built mine. If I can score a set of Doug/Floyd's crew figures, I will definitely grab one of Huey re-pops on this pass... With Regards and Aloha, Johnny B.

I hope the markings in that artwork are NOT included, they would be incorrect for a B version, they are for a C version. MRC's C had them in the late 90's.

Unfortunately they are those markings but I am going to just use some of them and do an accurate B anyway. Like the U S army and such. Also you need to change some stuff like the pitot location and add some nose whisker antennas but not too hard to do
