The summer is normally considered a fairly quiet time of year in modelling terms, but Eduard's extraordinary output continues unabated, with a bundle of new kits and accessories catering for all interests.

The kits are all 1/48 scale and they are a really varied bunch. Kicking things off is a limited-edition re-release of Airfix's Spitfire Mk.22/24, complete with an Aires resin cockpit interior, Eduard colour photo-etch, and four marking options. Hot on its heels is a new Dual Combo version of the hugely successful Fokker D.VII (Alb). Last but not least are a pair of the new "Weekend" series of simplified kits, the Bf 108 and Nieuport 17.

Looking ahead to August, the big news is the release of the Polikarpov I-16 Type 24 with a corrected cowling and markings for 5 aircraft.

As usual, there's a huge range of new photo etched sets this month - stand out items including no less than 4 sets for the 1/32 scale Trumpeter A-7D Corsair II and the next instalments of the SB2C-4 Helldiver series for the 1/48 scale Revell/Monogram (and Accurate Miniatures re-box) kits. Another set that's bound to be popular is designed for the brand new Tamiya He 162.
