Miniwing have announced the new release of the Canadian built Avro CF-100 Canuck Mk.3 all weather fighter. This rather handsome Cold War warrior comes with marking options for two aircraft.
This brand new resin kit has 27 resin parts, clear resin canopy and decals for two aircraft.
The two seat Canuck or “the Clunk” as it was affectionately called, was the only mass produced jet fighter built by Canada. The Belguim Air Force also flew the Canuck.

Ref no: Mini057
Price: TBA

There is a film of the CF-100 on Youtube, well worth seeing.

It may interest people to note that one of this kit's subjects is a museum aircraft in British Columbia. 18138 was flown by 440 and 445 Squadrons while operational, then converted to a Mk. 3D Dual control trainer and trnasferred to No. 3 OTU. After its RCAF service ended in 1963, it was donated to the British Columbia Institute of Technology and used for many years to teach jet engine mechanics. In 1987 it was donated to the Canadian Museum of Flight. It remains on display at Langley airport, just east of Vancouver.
